For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored 1948 Parker 51 Vacumatic Fountain Pen & Pencil Demi Set in the Dove Gray Color. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and is now in great writing condition. The Lustraloy caps on both writing instruments are perfect. 

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, collector, breather tube, and hood. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. I have hand-cleaned the cap and arrow clip, clutch ring, and 14K Parker nib. I have cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel and hood to bring back the vibrancy of the fountain pen and to protect the material on both the fountain pen and pencil. This Parker 51 is demi size and measures 4 3/4" capped and 5 1/4" posted. The Pencil measures 4 5/8 inches. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.

This fountain pen cap, barrel, and hood are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The cap has the Feather Arrow Clip that displays no wear/brassing. The cap is a Lustraloy type with no scratching, denting, or wear with a frosty Lustraloy finish on both caps. The cap is clearly stamped with, "PARKER MADE IN U.S.A." on the lip of the cap. The barrel is stamped clearly, "PARKER "51" Made in U.S.A. with date code 8 (for 1948) in the 2nd Quarter".

I have tested the Vacumatic filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The filling system, typically in my tests with water, will fill nearly full in roughly 6 to 7 presses.

The Parker NIB is 14K and writes great with an extra-fine to fine line! The actual writing portion (iridium) of the 14K Parker NIB has an extra-fine point measuring roughly .43mm when measured with digital calipers. In the writing sample provided, the line measures between .39mm to .50mm when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink. This is a needle-point nib and writes as one would expect, very rigid. 

This Parker 51 comes with a box and original. The box is in fair condition with no ink stains

The Parker Vacumatic Pencil is a twist-activated type. Turn the cap and the lead will propel outward.

This Parker 51 set in Dove Gray is extremely clean - it is near Mint to Mint Condition. It is certainly ready to write with or just add it to your writing arsenal collection, it is a gorgeous set that you will be blown away by.
